I designed this pickup for a guitarist that wanted full neck tone with all the cut and clarity of a bridge pickup.  He needed something that could handle anything from blues to metal, that was warm, and didn't get a boomy low end but wasn't to thin either.  After some trial and error I came up with my smooth heritage pickup and it quickly became one of my favorites.

It's wound with 42awg formvar wire which gives it a bright clear treble and smooth bass.   Then I add an alnico 2 magnet to warm up the midrange, increases sustain, and give you more harmonic overtones.  The end result is a neck pickup that has all the clarity you would expect from a bridge pickup but with all the warmth of a neck pickup.  It's got that spongy, bluesy bottom end you would expect from an alnico 2 pickup but the high end is so defined and clear that you could still use it for cutting leads and Metal.

When I was done designing this pickup, I stepped back and realized that I had just recreated the Peter Green neck pickup.  The only difference was that mine was in phase with the bridge pickup.  Because of this I decided to have the pickup come standard with 4 conductor wire and instructions for wiring it in phase or out of phase.

Tone: Bright and clear, warm midrange, and smooth bass.
