These are based on 1962 strat pickups. The treble is clear and strong, bass is warm and smooth, and the midrange is naturally scooped so you get that vintage "chime".  They sound similar to my '59 set but with more output, less cutting treble, and thicker midrange. This makes them a good option for people that can't crank their amp to 11. These pickups have become quite popular with many alternative, blues, and classic rock musicians.

In the neck and middle position these pickups sound very warm and full.  The scooped mids can make it sound a bit thin in the bridge.  Some people want true vintage 1962 tone from their bridge pickup but others want a good thick lead tone which is why I offer a calibrated bridge pickup for anybody that asks for it.  

These come calibrated for vintage tone on modern guitars which means I use flush poles and demagnetize (degauss) the magnets slightly for that aged alnico sound.  The pickups are potted with my own special shellac mixture that helps to further replicate the tone of vintage alnico and well as adding more texture to the tone which helps your guitar sound more alive.
