The natural EQ of the pickup boosts treble and bass frequencies for the much sought after " bell like chime" and sparkle that the '59 pickups were so famous for.  These pickups are bright which means lots of clarity and bit, and the loose bass response gives the pickup warmth and makes it sound very thick and full in the neck and middle positions.  In the bridge pickup is wound to vintage specs as well which means there is a slight volume drop and the scooped midrange can make the bridge pickup sound thin at bedroom volume or on solid state amps.  To combat this I offer a calibrated bridge pickup for anybody who requests it.  A calibrated bridge insures full thick leads from your bridge even volume from all your pickups.

This is a very popular set amongst  people looking to emulate the tone of Stevie Ray Vaughan's "Number 1" but it's not just limited to classic rock and blues.  The classic tone of '59 pickups is being sought after more and more for Jazz, funk, alternative rock and just about anything else you can think of.

These come calibrated for vintage tone on modern guitars which means I use flush poles and demagnetize (degauss) the magnets slightly for that aged alnico sound.  The pickups are potted with my own special shellac mixture that helps to further replicate the tone of vintage alnico and well as adding more texture to the tone which helps your guitar sound more alive.
